Several technical methods for ultrapure water preparation: The first method: Generally, deionized water obtained through cation and anion exchange resins can reduce the effluent conductivity to below 10 μS/cm, and further reduction to below 1 μS/cm can be achieved with a mixed bed. However, the cost of water produced by this method is extremely high, and it contains too many particulate impurities, failing to meet ideal requirements. This method is now less commonly used. The second method: Pretreatment (i.e., sand and carbon filters + precision filters) + reverse osmosis + mixed bed process. This method is currently widely adopted because the investment cost of reverse osmosis is relatively low, and it can remove over 90% of the ions in water. The remaining ions are then removed through mixed bed exchange, resulting in an effluent conductivity of: This is currently the popular method. The third method: The pretreatment is the same as the second method, using reverse osmosis, but the mixed bed is replaced with an EDI continuous desalination membrane module. This eliminates the need for acid and alkali to regenerate the resin, as it uses electricity for regeneration. This makes the entire process completely pollution-free, and the water quality after treatment by the deionized water equipment can reach above 15 MΩ. However, the initial investment for this method is relatively high, though the operating cost is low. The effluent from reverse osmosis RO (EDI feedwater) is generally 2–30 μS (conductivity), and depending on the specific needs, ultrapure or deionized water typically has a resistivity of 2–15 MΩ/cm.

Ultrapure water equipment produces water of high purity, suitable for use in chemical, industrial, food, laboratory, pharmaceutical preparations, pharmaceutical manufacturing, electronics, and other industries.

In different fields, the requirements for water quality often vary, and the water produced by ultrapure water equipment is virtually free of any impurities, meeting the water needs of various industries. In recent years, water treatment technology has developed rapidly, and ultrapure water equipment has become highly popular among large, medium, and small enterprises. It is typically used for industrial needs, and with the maturation of technology and the demands of industrial development, it is now applied in fields such as biology, medicine, and automotive. As the national economy continues to advance, it has ushered in a spring of development. Ultrapure water equipment uses methods such as pretreatment, reverse osmosis technology, ultrapurification treatment, and post-treatment to almost completely remove conductive media from water, as well as reduce non-dissociating colloidal substances, gases, and organic matter to very low levels. Industry experts indicate that proper operation and reasonable maintenance of purified water equipment are prerequisites for ensuring its normal operation. Under normal circumstances, many users may notice a slowdown in water production after using ultrapure water equipment for some time, which is a common issue that puzzles many customers. Here, we will explain the reasons for the slowdown in water production by ultrapure water equipment, which can be broadly categorized into the following situations: Membrane clogging due to long-term failure to replace or clean the pre-filters, resulting in water quality inside the machine being far worse than the water entering the machine. Poor raw water quality, combined with a low wastewater ratio, can lead to clogging of the wastewater solenoid valve or flushing combination valve, resulting in no wastewater discharge or very little wastewater discharge. This, in turn, causes membrane clogging and shortens the service life of the reverse osmosis membrane.
